“Every child can achieve their PHYSICAL BEST when they are provided developmentally appropriate activities in a nurturing environment. With adequate time, equipment and practice, all students can learn. This has been the philosophy that has guided my teaching for 27 years. Believing in every child and establishing high expectations have created an environment in which students have exceeded what they thought possible, at times conquering very real fears.”
“My passion for teaching physical education and making a difference in children’s lives radiates as strong today as it did 27 years ago. Each day I am driven by the motto:I truly love teaching physical education and believe my philosophy has helped me leave a lasting impression on children’s lives.”
“Changing attitudes at an early age will have a dramatic impact on their future health and well-being. I continually research new methodology and activities to create innovative lessons, which are physically beneficial, but above all FUN. All lessons provide challenges for skilled students, but also allow all children the opportunity to achieve success.”
“Her knowledge, experience, and passion for her students, her school, and her profession, serve as an inspiration to all that come into contact with her. I have been teaching for over thirty years and still use a tape of Donna’s teaching as a model lesson for my students at the university. Donna is a constant and enthusiastic advocate both personally and professionally for quality education for all. Donna is a compelling teacher who sculpts young students into being prepared for and believing in active healthy lifestyles.” Dr. Monica Mize, past president of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance; director for the Physical Education Major and professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Human Performance at Weber State University.
