Tonys philosophy of teaching and classroom style is
modeled after the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you
would have them do unto you. Once the foundation of
mutual trust and respect have been established, Tonys
passion for teaching and for his students begins. My
greatest accomplishment in the classroom would have to be
assisting students to be successful writers through the integration
of a writing program within the World History curriculum
.The
impetus for my writing program was the simple fact that when
I asked my students to write, I was unable to follow their
ideas. The program was
created to make students better
writers
.(S)tudents that do the work have earned their
self-esteem. My students success symbolizes my contributions
and accomplishments. For 27 years, Tonys passion
has been teaching. He has worked inside his classroom to improve
education while working within his school and district to
ensure that student needs come before those of administrators,
teachers and support staff. Tony worked to help bring the
first pay-for-performance plan to his district over 15 years
ago and continues to work hard to improve education in his
district.
Tony holds a Bachelors degree in History and Social
Studies from Bemidji State University, Bemidji, Minnesota.
