Jennifer professes Teaching is not for wimps.
She is a successful teacher because of her stamina, patience
and creativity and because she allows her job to be all-encompassing.
Flagstaff is an ideal setting for Jennifer and her field of
education: science. She has taken advantage of many of the
resources in the area: Northern Arizona University, two observatories
and the unique geological surroundings. She views her job
as an educator to motivate, encourage and to provide
a variety of meaningful experiences for all students to see
how science and education is relevant in their lives and to
prepare them for the real world. Jennifers students
must meet certain requirements in her classes, but are expected
to individualize their own educational experiences. By each
student being actively involved in how concepts are learned,
her students become aware of their own learning styles and
discover concepts on their own. Jennifer has taught a variety
of Science classes at Flagstaff High School since 1989; she
received her B.S., M.A. and Teacher Certification from Northern
Arizona University where she continues her post-graduate studies.
