  • “There is no greater or more important challenge facing this country than preparing the next generation to succeed in an increasingly complex world. I hold this conviction so deeply that I retired from the Air Force early to allow myself to have a full second career as an educator. It was absolutely the right decision.”
  • “Seeing students excel and develop their innate talents is the greatest reward a teacher can receive. Looking back at five years of remarkable student achievement and process improvement within the AFJROTC program at Nogales High School, I see concrete proof that we are making a positive impact. ‘Building better citizens for America’ is our mission, and we are accomplishing that mission.”
  • “A truly successful teacher must be a consistently positive role model and a leader with strong integrity. Teachers always need to set a good example, for they are always on display, whether they realize it or not. Children learn by observing adult behavior, and they quickly spot a hypocrite. A teacher must care genuinely about his/her students as individuals; this establishes mutual trust and respect that will promote learning.”

Colonel Anderson graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors Degree in Government from the University of Arizona. He received his Masters Degree in International Relations from Creighton University and has completed numerous graduate-level courses over the past 20 years.
