Dr. Terrie St. Michel

Terrie’s success a teacher is founded in her relationship to students both past and present. By remaining involved in their lives, she supports them as long as they might need her. Her ongoing relationships with former students not only helps ensure their success, but also sends a positive message to her current students: “I am here to do whatever it takes to help you realize your full potential and accomplish your dreams.” Terrie begins building a solid relationship with her students in her classroom where she fosters a caring and compassionate environment. This is where students discover themselves and their potential. She views herself as “a resource, a confidant, a mentor and a cheerleader.” The daughter of two very enthusiastic teachers, Terrie knew she wanted to become a teacher when she was in high school. Since 1983, she has been an English teacher at South Mountain High School. She also works at A.S.U. teaching teachers to teach. Terrie received her B.A., M.A. and Doctor of Education Degree from A.S.U. She earned her National Board Certification in 2000. Terrie was named “Outstanding Teacher for Legislative District 23” in 2000.
