Vivian Hunt

Apache Elementary School, Peoria
1st – 3rd Grade Reading

“My mission is to maintain a positive learning environment that encourages all students to achieve their highest potential and discover their value as unique individuals. I pledge to grow as a professional educator as I provide quality instruction utilizing the most current technology and educational theory to create desire in each student for the pursuit of knowledge. I will give my personal best each day to help students build problem-solving skills that will guide them in a lifetime of learning as contributing members of the global community.”

“My current teaching assignment is a dream! I am a Program for Accelerated Literacy Teacher. Early intervention is preferable to later remediation. Instruction should build on student ability level and address different learning styles. Immersion in print-rich environments of books, magazines, posters, and student writing coupled with effective instruction integrating listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities are key to student success.”

“Mrs. Hunt didn’t teach me how to read better, I had it in me all the time, she just taught me how to find it!” says one of Mrs. Hunt’s students. His parent continues, “Vivian Hunt’s teaching inspired my son to identify himself as a confident reader. His confidence and attitude about reading are forever changed because of Vivian Hunt’s talents as a teacher. I will never be able to repay her for changing my son’s life. But I do rest assured that she knows she is the one who made the difference and that his future successes will rest upon the strong foundation she had provided for him.”

Ms. Hunt graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from New Mexico State University and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix. She has been a teacher for 25 years.
