A+ Exemplary Programs Award
The A+ Exemplary Programs Award was created by the Arizona Educational Foundation in 2004 to celebrate and recognize programs that exemplify educational excellence in schools throughout Arizona. The Programs' purpose is threefold: to identify and give public recognition to outstanding programs in public schools in Arizona; to make available a comprehensive framework of key criteria for program effectiveness that can serve as a basis for participatory self-assessment and planning in schools; and to facilitate communication and sharing of outstanding programs within and among schools based on common criteria related to success. Applicant schools' programs are recognized for the following: their superior ability to go above and beyond what might be expected in order to meet the needs of their student populations; producing concrete results and outcomes; measurability; innovation and/or creativity; sustainability; potential for replication; and their ability to demonstrate an improved school culture and climate and/or improved student achievement. Schools are limited to one application per academic year. The award includes $100, promotional material and a plaque.
